MARK CARASCAL

Scientist. Artist. Science Communicator. Poet

Journey to the Lunar Seas

My heart and mind are now in your hands; take them with you in your own journey.

In this debut poetry book of a young scientist and novice poet, Mark opens up his heart and mind through poems. His poems describe the evolution of experiences of heartbreak, self-doubt, regret, longing, hope, understanding oneself, acceptance, moving on, and moving forward. The poems in this collection are divided into sections (lunar mare) that will take the readers on a journey of feelings of a young romantic living in this modern world. Throughout the journey, Mark hopes his readers will find comfort in knowing they are not alone in their experience.

The collection is composed of thirty full-length poems (structured and free verse), complemented by hand-drawn images by a young artist (Maville Carascal). Heartfelt, relatable, and artistically written, the poems are perfect for adolescents and young adults who want to discover more about themselves and others through poetry.

Mare Crisium, Mare Undarum, Mare Marginis, Mare Tranquilitatis, and Mare Nectaris— let our journey to the lunar seas of feelings begin!
