Science Comic Books

Mark conceptualized and illustrated two science comic books, in collaboration with his mentors from the University of Santo Tomas. He specifically developed characters including Myxoman (from myxomycetes, a fungus-like protist) and his sidekick Amoeboy (from the amoeboid life stage of myxomycetes), and various recognizable mushrooms such as Rhoda (Rhodotus palmatus), Engr. Russell (Russula emetica), Nica Deconica (Deconica coprophila), and Arianna Auricularia (Auricularia auricula).
