The Rains of Warm January Nights

As I rest my head on the quartz window,
I watched every drop of rain that falls down;
Each forms a dazzling vein leading outside,
And will soon dry up like my weary eyes.
The rain falls on the roof of my house:
They make subtle sounds with every note.
It drowned my soft whisper in your ear,
So, you left me and never looked back.
The pavement slowly fills with flood;
Each drop, creating a ripple.
Time after time the ripple fades
Until they cannot remember.
Time slowly eats my being
And I ran outside to feel you.
I felt your remnants in me:
Chilly on a warm evening.
My skin soaked in the rain
But haunted by your touch:
The way you held my hand
Is still my treasured rest.
I opened my mouth,
Water’s bittersweet.
Just like your last kiss
Poisoning my heart.
I walked alone,
Saw the ruins
Of wet columns
That was once ours.
Rain is gone.
Memories
Live in me,
Not in you.
Raining
Is not
Usual
Tonight.
It
Was
All
My
Tears.
